Scotty has been providing aspiring Cape musicians with world class music instruction at his Hyannis studio for 23 years. We feature private lessons, classes and workshops in guitar, keyboard, bass, music theory, ear training, MIDI, digital recording and musical electronics applications. Working with literally THOUSANDS of students, Scotty has created a unique program where folks learn to totally UNDERSTAND music while at the same time, thoroughly enjoying themselves and playing the music they like! Scotty has been playing music all his life. His mother, a symphony violinist, started him with piano lessons at age 6. He began to play guitar, clarinet and saxaphone at age 10. His unique credentials in the fields of music education, graphic arts, video production, music and art history allowed him to envision and finally realize this one-of-a-kind program. He holds a B.F.A. from the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford, CT where he also attended classes at the famous HARTT SCHOOL OF MUSIC.
Scotty has also studied music theory, ear training, jazz improvisation and studio production with Dan May, Richard Brookens, Dave Tegelaar, Dick Wetmore, John Todd, Beth Hirons, Terry Duenas, The Cape Cod Conservatory and the Community Media Center. He would also like to thank his long-time friends and supporters at Charlie's Music Store in Hyannis, MA ... This awesome resourse was just a natural extension of Scotty's private guitar instruction experience. Each guitar instruction DVD was actually filmed, edited and produced at The Community Media Center in South Yarmouth, MA. with the invaluable assistance of Terry Duenas, Suzie Reid, Mike Moore, Joe Martin, Hal Cue, Maria Munk, Big Lee Davis, Dave Dewese, Chris Beaumier, Amy Davies, Beth Trout and others. Each guitar instruction DVD is duplicated in-house to ensure the highest quality control. We dub each guitar instruction DVD in the DVD-R format and print and assemble all the books and support material packages ourselves.
Scotty's partner and "love-of-my-life" KATHY NYER was here for every phase of the production. This music education and production facility and DVD guitar course simply wouldn't exist without her hard work and expertise. Kathy is herself a musician, playing French Horn with various local ensembles and MIDI Wind Controller with the EXPERIMENTAL ENSEMBLE OF CAPE COD.
